Water Efficiency Retrofits

Retrofitting for water efficiency includes upgrading or replacing old water appliances with new ones. Although water-efficient devices may be more expensive, they use less water and save the consumer money over time.

Older toilets require a lot of water to operate. There are many inexpensive ways to retrofit a toilet. The most obvious is to replace the entire toilet with an ultra-low-volume one that requires less water per flush. Otherwise, there are several components in the tank that can be replaced to help save water. Other fixtures in a bathroom can be retrofitted to be made more efficient, like installing a low-flow showerhead or a low-flow aerator to reduce the flow of water in the faucet of a bath or sink.
