Recycling & Municipal Waste
Recycling is taking used material and making them into new products, thereby lowering the amount of waste in landfills. Also, recycling has a positive effect on net emissions from factory processing because the need for raw materials is reduced. There are many products that can be recycled, including: paper, plastics, metals, glass, electronics, and textiles. These materials can be recycled in a few different ways, either by taking the materials directly to a recycling facility or by placing the materials curbside for a company to come and pick them up.
Municipal residences and commercial organizations account for a great deal of garbage. This waste can be anything from biodegradable kitchen waste to hazardous materials to construction waste. Municipalities typically administer the pick-up and disposing of such waste.
