Public Transportation
Transportation services offered to the public typically include buses, subways, trolleys, trains, water-taxis, and ferries. Many municipalities offer additional services to senior citizens and those with physical disabilities. These services are usually subsidized by the municipality, but sometimes private companies offer services. Though these vehicles do release emissions, many of them release less than most cars. Currently, many cities are upgrading their public transportation systems in an effort to expand the number of viable options for those wishing to participate.
