Energy Efficiency Retrofits
Retrofitting adds or improves an older system (air conditioning, insulation) with newer, more efficient technology. When retrofitting the energy efficiency of any type of building, it is very important to carefully inspect the building’s envelope - the layer that separates the outside from the inside. Older envelopes are not well-insulated and should be thoroughly assessed before retrofitting to prevent any problems or damage to the building. There are numerous areas in a home and in an envelope that may lose energy, and include any areas where there are moisture problems, water leakage, and finishes on the building that may be damaged.
